TTM’s work revolves around awareness raising in the community and includes public theatre, workshops and school presentations.  They advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and encourage participation in training courses and workplaces. They also work with government and other NGO’s to implement appropriate disability policies.</p>

<p>TTM require a suitably experienced person to work with the staff and Executive Committee on matters of organisational development and relationship building.</p>

<p>To be considered for this assignment you will require a relevant qualification and work history in community development. Experience in project planning, project design and project management, preferably in NGO/Health/Education or Community Service Management sectors will be required.</p>

Life skills, job-preparedness and on-the-job training are other critical components that make the model so successful. REACH students are so highly regarded that over 80% gain stable employment often prior to the completion of their course.</p>

<p>With only a handful of midwives are trained to a senior level, the Health Services requires the support of an international volunteer to continue developing the skills and knowledge of local staff to meet local demand.</p>
<p>Duties will include providing consultation and counselling sessions, caring for newborns, postnatal and preterm babies in nursery as well as assisting in staff training.</p>

<p>St Joseph's Ludzi Community Hospital was opened in 1949 by the Sister of Charity of Ottawa. With the challenges of an increasing population and the reduction in the government's health provision, the hospital needs to develop the capacity of its staff.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In order to achieve this aim, the hospital requires a suitably qualified and experienced person to improve the standard and quality of the pharmacy at the hospital and to train pharmacy staff to manage the pharmacy efficiently and effectively.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The suitable applicant will be a Registered Pharmacist and preferably have experience working in a rural hospital. They will also need a background in training and mentoring colleagues with varying levels of experience and skills. Knowledge of fundraising and proposal writing will also be required.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A recognition of the need to adapt to a new cultural environment and to appreciate the rewards and challenges of such will be central to this assignment. An understanding and empathy for those working in a Christian environment is also required.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In addition to professional expertise, volunteers need skills in training and developing others, applied awareness and sensitivity to cross-cultural communication, patience, tolerance and flexibility.</p>

<p>Led by Australian volunteer teacher Frank Hilton, the first Special School was established by the Fiji Crippled Children’s Society 1967 to provide education for children with physical and hearing impairment. There are now 15 Special Schools with two vocational training centres.</p>
<p>They have requested a volunteer to coordinate 2 teams of 5 volunteers who will work across all Special Schools in Fiji. This position will assist in coordinating this effort for the Western and Northern Division. The volunteer would need successful results in management and administration in a Special School Setting, as well as extensive results in developing monitoring and evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of programs.</p>

<p>After the 10 year conflict in Bougainville, progress is being made in rebuilding the administrative functions and systems of the provincial government under a new agreement giving autonomy.</p>
<p>Most provincial government staff do not have project planning and management experience and the administration have requested an Australian volunteer as a trainer in this area – aiming towards enhancement of service delivery.</p>
<p>The objectives of the volunteer for this assignment will be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide expertise to the Office of the Deputy Administrator to establish an overall district planning strategy that would guide district project planning and management development.</li>
<li>Improve capacity of district administration staff to design, implement and monitor projects and manage budgets. </li>
</ul>
<p>To meet the needs of the host organisation, the volunteer would bring with them expertise in project management, preferably within government or social services environments. In addition to professional expertise, volunteers need skills in training &amp; developing others, applied awareness and sensitivity to cross-cultural communication, patience, tolerance and flexibility. They manage with good humour the daily challenges of working with very limited resources.</p>
